Shirley Lau is a visual designer from Hong Kong and is currently based in Providence, Rhode Island. While attending the Rhode Island School of Design, she developed a passion for studying interconnections of disciplinary practices through visual user-based design, entrepreneurial thinking and multimodal communications. Her work currently employs her conceptual thinking, traditional drafting skills and writing to create identity and brand concept prototypes and presentations. Additionally, she creates books and visual languages to explore different forms of communication.
She currently works as a writing, public speaking, visual communication and English language tutor at the RISD Center for Arts and Language.
In her spare time, she is also a home cook, runner, health enthusiast and doesn’t refer to herself in the third person.
